New Look have been knocking it out of the park recently in the style stakes, whatever the devil those may be! Regardless, they really do seem to have upped their game with an abundance of lovely jumpers, skirts, coats and shoes available. Of course, those of you who read regularly will know that a fair old number of their delightful dresses have been cropping up in our Double Thumbs Dresses feature, so it was therefore no great surprise that when New Look contacted us about putting together our own Wish Lists that we went straight for the frocks, specifically the red ones! Phwoar.
Victoria and I have each selected our favourite red dresses and we surprised ourselves by not overlapping once (although you may spot a certain heart print similarity!). So, without a further ado! Here are our fancies!
I’m not particularly fond of a BRIGHT IN YOUR FACE RED as I don’t think it really suits me and, even when it does, I really have to be in the right mood to wear it. I do, however, firmly love a burgundy and a plum. It was with great appreciation then that I perused New Look’s red dress selection, which has happily embraced both with open arms. Rejoice!
My stand out favourite from my Wish List has to be the Burgundy Bow Neck Chiffon Dress. I really love a bow, especially when said bow just happens to be massive. I can already see myself flouncing around in this dress teamed with black tights, boots and a long winter coat – and perhaps even a little hat! Swoon! I also have ideas of making it my Christmas Day dress (that’s normal, right?) and adding some sort of ridiculous sparkly belt and unfeasibly huge sparkly earrings. Yes, it’s still September. Sorry.
To me, red + dress = THAT Zara skater dress worn by one of our fashion icons, Zooey Deschanel. It was when I set my eyes on the opening titles of New Girl, I knew I needed a great red dress in my life. I hadn’t managed to find one, but my luck changed when New Look released these awesome pieces. This weekend I shall be popping in to purchase my favourite dress from my wish list, the Tenki Red Geo Peter Pan Mini Dress!
This beauty just screamed out to me. An amazing print, fun sleeves, a cute collar and a flattering fitted waist – it has all the things we look for in a great dress. The blue version is also very special, but the red just edges its way to the top due to it’s smashing 60s style.
We hope you enjoyed looking at all the pretty dresses!
