It’s that time again! I’m back with another round-up of the dresses worthy of the highly coveted She and Hem Double Thumbs Up seal of approval. Let’s see what’s been tickling my fancy this week….

Sometimes putting these lists together can be ridiculously bad news for my bank balance but, dear reader, every so often I discover a budget friendly wonder! Just LOOK at this beautiful dress from Peacocks. I adore anything 1950s and this dress ticks all the right boxes, including being slightly reminiscent of a pair of old curtains. Sold.
*at the time of writing Peacocks are also offering 20% off dresses AND 99p delivery. Umm, amazing?*

Here we have another lovely vintage inspired affair from ASOS‘s own brand. I was drawn to this one because of that gorgeous midi length, a style which I like but have yet to fully embrace. I really enjoy the contrasting prints and the unusual choice of colours they have used. It just looks effortlessly cool and definitely one which I could also wear to work.

Ooooh Betty! I do so enjoy that lovely Peter Pan collar! The fashion for smock dresses shows no signs of abating, which I know isn’t great news for everyone, but if you have yet to embrace it then this very pretty floral print number from Motel could be the one to change your mind. Smock it to ’em!

People Tree are really great at getting top designers in and their new A/W collection is no exception with both Peter Jensen and Zhandra Rhodes putting in an appearance. I’ve chosen a dress by the former as I am loving the cutesy animal prints (there are also some mighty fine bears to look at). This rabbit print dress not only wins for those adorable, and plentiful, bunnies but also because the shape of the dress is perfect. AND IT HAS SLEEVES!

It’s slightly inevitable that if I spot a tapestry dress it’s going to end up on Double Thumbs. It’s a weakness, what can I say? I love the shape, I love the high neckline, I love that it’s a skater dress and I love the floral print. Did I mention that it’s also a tapestry dress? Well played, New Look

Ever since Ellie wrote her marvelous guest post about Pepperberry I have been keeping a keen eye on their New In section. They really do have a lot of fabulous frocks but this full skirted floral affair has to be my pick of the Pepperyberry bunch. It looks perfect for an evening ‘do and it has pockets. I blimmin love it when posh frocks have pockets.

Orange is set to be the colour of the season which is a fact which frightens me to my very core. I just don’t think I can do orange! However, this gorgeous Miss Selfridge dress might be the one to change my mind as despite being undeniably zesty in colour, it also seems rather understated and vintage inspired. Bravo!

Boden have a real knack for producing modern dresses with a distinct vintage edge to them. My current favourite is this darling little 1960s number, with its lovely lovely collar. I’m totally digging the burgundy colour, although it also comes in navy and black, and the beautiful detailing on those fabric covered beads.
Until next time!
