On Saturday we gathered with a bunch of fellow bloggers for the the very first Bristol Blogclub. Run by the wonderful Hayley from Bonjour Blogger and Ceriselle, the aim of Blogclub is to discuss, improve and share our various blogging experiences and tribulations. Whilst surrounded by cake. And sweets. And more cake. Sorry, you were saying something about blogging? I got distracted.
Looks pretty yum, right? Seriously, there was SO much scrumptious food on offer. The above treats were made by Hayley and Josephine (Style by Josephine) and we are hoping to spot some recipes on their blogs soon!
We gathered in VAN (which for geographically conscious Bristolian’s is located right next to the Old Vic), who kindly let us take over their great space for the afternoon. We had such a fun time discussing our blogging pasts, presents and futures and what we might like to get from Blogclub. As well as being quite a productive occasion, it was also a great opportunity to catch up with blogging friends old and new. It’s always lovely to have a natter! It was also great to meet the girls from VAN who were all extremely friendly and welcoming. So much so, we kind of want to work at VAN now. Hi VAN!
When you have a room full of bloggers, it’s inevitable you are also going to have a room full of photographers. We roped Lily (Lily Doughball) into taking some snaps of us in the makeshift lounge-come-studio. For the occasion I (Jo) wore my pink Ted Baker water bottle print dress which I picked up from the ASOS sale (I’ve also seen it reduced in John Lewis). I tried to balance out the pretty floaty pastels with black polka-dot tights from Topshop, an H&M cardigan and purple M&S brogues. Victoria’s gorgeous white top is from Bon Marche* and she teamed it with paisley shorts from Primark and snazzy Accessorize tights. Her cupcake necklace is from Black Heart Creatives.
I tried (and failed) to take a group shot with my camera but whilst I was fiddling around with the self timer I managed to take this rather lovely shot of most of our Blogclub contingent. From L-R you have Josephine, Victoria, SJ (Ship Shape and Bristol Fashion), Lily, Hayley, Sarah (Cities and Palm Trees) and Sammy. Sadly the photo is missing Laura (A Daisy Chain Dream) and Chrisy – sorry! We will have to make ‘group photo’ top of the agenda at the next Blogclub.
Thanks for a great afternoon, ladies!
