Morning! We’ve finally hit day two of our time at London Fashion Week. It seems crazy that this was over a week ago now! How time has flown. As you can see, the weather had improved somewhat for our second day of fashion fun, even allowing for some outside photo ops!
We had another bright and early start in order to attend the Orla Kiely showcase at Central Saint Martins. We were so incredibly excited to attend the show and it completely lived up to our expectations. We’ll be blogging about the showcase later this week but, in the meantime, how cute are the personalised coffee cups they were handing out?
We then hopped, skipped and totally windswept our way over to The Marylebone Hotel for a street style event, hosted by Aspinal of London. Now, we love a bit of Aspinal but we were even more excited about the prospect of seeing Glamour Magazine‘s Executive Fashion and Beauty Editor, Claudia Mahoney, in conversation with one of our top blogger crushes, Ella Catliff from La Petite Anglaise.
The event didn’t disappoint and it was great to hear top fashion tips from the pros whilst sipping on smoothies and eyeing up the to die for new Aspinal Marylebone collection. Also: Ella’s pink two piece. Phwoar! We may have also had a little bit too much fun posing with the very pretty tree in the hotel bar after the event had finished.
We then decided to mosey back towards Somerset House but not before spying the Shopcade bus! If you don’t already use Shopcade, it’s sort of like Pinterest for shopaholics! We blimmin’ love it and it was great to chat to some of the people behind the company. They were all so friendly and we would gladly have stayed on the bus all day!
Two mojitos later (cheers, Shopcade) we finally negotiated our way back to Somerset House where we were soon busy photographing each other strutting our stuff on the cobbles! Cara Delevinge, eat your heart out etc. Anyhoo, without Orla Kiely to dress us (sob) we were left to our own fashion devices. Seriously, you should have seen the state of our hotel room – it was a clothing explosion! Victoria settled on a gorgeous Fever London tapestry dress and teamed it with her pastel pink Jane Norman coat, brown Zatchel and New Look shoes. I embraced the British weather by teaming an umbrella print Oasis blouse with an umbrella print Great Plains skirt. My shoes, tights and coat are all from Topshop and the camera bag seen above is from Accessorize.
Just as we were heading off we bumped into the wonderful Joseph Kent. We must have bumped into him half a dozen times over the weekend and he was never without a smile on his face, even when he was half drenched! Seeing him in the sunshine seemed like a great opportunity to get the photographer in front of the lens. Lovely stuff.
