Hello one and all and welcome back to your weekly (ahem) roundup of the dresses we have deemed worthy of the highly coveted Double Thumbs seal of approval. You might have noticed that we skipped a week last week so, by way of an apology, I have made this one slightly longer. I know, I really do spoil you.

Right, so, this is a little unprecedented but first up we have FOUR dresses from the rather brilliant, People Tree. The first three form part of their ongoing collaboration with Orla Kiely, who I know we have been relentlessly banging on about recently but I can’t help it if she keeps bringing the pretty to the party. This new collaboration features three dancing girl silhouette prints and they are all so SO great. I really couldn’t choose just one so I’ve had to go with three but I could easily have chosen more. Yikes. And just when I thought I was safe I spied the balloon print dress and practically combusted at my computer. What the heck, People Tree? Are you deliberately trying to bankrupt me?

Oh good, more reasons to spend all my money! The new Poppy collection landed this week and as usual it’s perfect. This time they have embraced bright bold colours as their characters, Poppy and Fred, take Mr Giraffe to the seaside. I don’t know what party balloons have got to do with giraffes at the seaside but if the result is always this pretty, I’m on board. No, I’m not drunk.

Speaking of giraffes, the long awaited safari print finally appeared online at Cath Kidston yesterday with dresses, skirts, trousers and playsuits causing a veritable pinning frenzy. I can’t decide how mad keen I am on the olive colour (the skirt comes in a lovely cream) but the print is ridiculously great.

I really can’t have enough mustard in my wardrobe and this Emily & Fin dress is calling my name. It’s part of their new collection, which is all just incredible. I promised you in Double Thumbs #28 that I would notify you when the Ice Cream print dress became available and am pleased to already report that Aspire Style are taking pre-orders for both that dress and the mustard wonder above.

White Stuff and I are having a bit of a moment of late as they seem to have gone completely novelty print bonkers! I guess you could say they are developing. I love that they’ve put this great camera print on the more traditionally smart shift dress. It’s an instant hit.

Ah, this F&F* dress makes me pine for springtime. It’s so pretty! I love the retro floral print and shape, plus it has POCKETS! A prom dress with pockets! Praise be.

I navigated myself to the Yumi website and discovered this lovely map print dress! Don’t tell anyone, but I don’t think those butterflies are to scale.

And last but by no means least is this very cheerful check shirt dress from my new favourite, Great Plains. It too has pockets. a lovely full skirt and sort of reminds me of a tablecloth. Brilliant. I also enjoy the description ‘go mad for plaid’ and really wish I had thought of it myself. Well plaid, Great Plains, well plaid.
