The Orla Kiely Autumn/Winter 2015 presentation was inspired by the film Love Story from 1970, starring the gorgeous Ali Macgraw, (who, fyi, has more than a passing resemblance to LFW fave Kendall Jenner). The film is responsible for that very famous quote ‘Love means never having to say you’re sorry’, but we are certainly not sorry to say that we love this collection! It had fine written all over it.
When we walked into the Vinyl Factory, we totally lost the plot and both agreed it was our favourite Orla Kiely presentation set so far, with the SS14 Wes Anderson inspired show coming a close second. With colourful cookies on offer, hot chocolate flowing and a Bjork soundtrack, the OK library is our kind of library. Having fun isn’t hard when you’ve got an OK library card!
Look up ‘perfect’ in the dictionary and you will see a picture of an OK model. We were dewey-eyed as they browsed the library in cute blouses with bows, Peter Pan collars, geometry chic grid prints and an abundance of grey tights. Each outfit as dreamy as the last and all completely ready to wear off of the catwalk. We really want to jump into that yellow two piece and head for a whisky with Don Draper (though we would obviously settle for Kenny!). This 60’s/70’s revival is long overdue (ha!)
As Jo is a real life Librarian she was keen for us to dress by the book. It looked like Michelle Keegan got the memo too, as she rocked up in head to toe Orla, with a beautiful vintage Chanel bag of course! It was pretty hard for us to stick to library rules and keep quiet when when we caught a glimpse of the new range of shoes in collaboration with Clarks. The Rose Leather Orla Amelia block heels are at the top of our wish lists!
We’ve set our date stamps for the SS16 presentation!
