Yep, we are both mothers now and surviving on a healthy diet of coffee, chocolate and Netflix. It has been so wonderful to go through the start of this journey together (Poppy is currently 8 weeks and Ada just 4) and 3am Whatsapp messaging has quickly become our new normal. We are so looking forward to our blog changing and growing with our new little people in tow.

Fashion wise, one obvious change is our newfound desire for buttons! Both of us are breastfeeding (and blimmin’ heck they don’t tell you how hard it is, do they?) so easy access is key. Much like maternity wear, the majority of nursing clothes don’t appear to be designed for the fashion conscious and jeez if you thought finding stylish maternity wear was hard, high street nursing clothes are practically non existent. Thankfully, it’s so far proven fairly easy to work around this and when Next asked us if we would like to style some pieces from their new collection, we were super happy to find some styles that were not only fashionable but ticked all of our bf friendly requirements (hello, dungarees).

We gave these looks quite the road test on a chilly afternoon catching up with friends whilst eating, drinking and breastfeeding our way around Bristol’s hella trendy and exceptionally tasty Wapping Wharf. When putting our outfits together, I had to step out of my comfort zone a little as, to be honest, I really wanted to style the floral ruffle dress that featured in the latest Double Thumbs Dresses! However, as lovely as it is, I’d only be able to wear it when my little girl doesn’t need quick and easy access, and I don’t see that happening any time soon. And so on this occasion, I decided to be sensible and go for the Linen Shirt Dress*, and I actually really love it!  I couldn’t resist adding some colour and layering the dress with the Blue Heart Sweater*. It’s so cute! I also picked a pair of simple Tan Loafers*, which are wonderfully comfortable thanks to the soft sole, and have also made a nice change from my usual brogues.

Jo also rocked the layering trend by teaming the Patched Demin Pinafore* with the ‘very She and Hem’ Cat Print Top*, which received a ton of compliments. Bravo Next, people blooming love cats. I can see the pinafore being quite the staple in Jo’s wardrobe this season. It’s great for nursing and stands up to any weather, as you can pile on the layers or wear it with bare legs…once it gets slightly warmer! With regards to shoes, Jo also went for a practical (yet fun!) pair of Floral Skater Shoes*. Although it was the coldest day of the year and my car broke down on the way home, it was such a thrill for both of us to be shooting outfit posts together again!
