That 70’s Show

We’ve been fully on the 70’s fashion bandwagon for a while now, in fact we spent the majority of our last London Fashion Week back in February top to toe in 70s garb! Thankfully this is one trend that’s here to stay which we are pretty happy about as we totally have the hair for the era! There’s something so dreamy about flares and fab prints! So when those groovy folks at Boohoo gave us the opportunity to further embrace our inner Marcia Brady as part of their 70’s Vibe campaign, we couldn’t resist! Right on!

We decided to really try and experiment with our 70’s looks as previously we have stuck firmly to dresses! Victoria pushed the boat out with her cool cat denim jumpsuit but felt surprisingly at ease – and not at all dorky in it! We both couldn’t get over how flattering it is! She layered it over a high necked floral crop top which worked perfectly and will no doubt look equally as ace when teamed with skirts and trousers. Her suedette tassel bag really finished the look off nicely with the fringing complimenting the look to the max! Speaking of suede, I couldn’t resist trying the must have piece of the season, the suede skirt! We weren’t disappointed with this soon to be staple and gee wizz we love how Boohoo have made theirs stand out with the contrasting shades of brown. I teamed it with a white flared sleeve top which is such a simple way to elevate any outfit to instant 70’s chic and one which really made me want to waft my arms around! To add a pop of colour (and to follow in the fashionable footsteps of some of our fellow bloggers) I thought I would try my hand at the neckerchief look and finished off with some trusty suedette loafers! Gnarly.

Thanks a lot for our new threads Boohoo! We love our new transitional pieces and can’t wait to rock them from now until Christmas!

Hem and Away: Chepstow Vintage Street Fayre

chep1

On Saturday, I popped over to Chepstow in Wales to attend a vintage street fayre organised by Vintage Vision and lots of fab volunteers who all love all things vintage! Due to the rather inclement weather, the fayre was moved from the street and into a local village hall. Fortunately, what could have been a damp squib turned out to be the perfect location for the variety of charming stalls made up of vintage clothing, accessories and homeware. There was also a design workshop for children, so their parents could focus on oodles of shopping. I spotted some gorgeous vintage clothes for children, and my niece and I fell for this floral dress below.

The ladies at Vintage Vision have a good understanding of what constitutes ‘vintage’ and will sell items from 1880 to 1980 that are classically beautiful, fashionable or just plain lovely. They are also up for a good party and have a unique selection of ‘cheesy’ vintage for fancy dress. I popped into the shop after visiting the fayre and they currently have some really beautiful 1950’s dresses in stock, so if you are local, do pay a visit!
