Hello and welcome to the 31st Accessories to Murder! Are you ready to delve into the world of amazing accessories featuring not one but two awesome Lazy Oaf goodies? Excellent. Without further ado, here are the accessories that have made it onto this week’s She and Hem’s Most Wanted.

Accessories to Murder #30 | She and Hem | Novelty Accessories
Summer Patch Set | £25 | The Whitepepper

I recently spotted these fun patches and thought that somebody a lot more crafty than I could create something quite wonderful with them. A lot like the fab dress above. They would look so great with the dress of the moment, this denim beauty from Zara. Are you a fan of patches? If so, send me a picture of something you have created!

Accessories to Murder #30 | She and Hem | Novelty Accessories
Little Sunny Bite X Muppets Miss Piggy Bag | £105.00 | Lazy Oaf
Accessories to Murder #30 | She and Hem | Novelty Accessories
Beaded Killing It Clutch | £60 | Eat Me Do Via Lazy Oaf

Lazy Oaf have got novelty in the bag right now with these two incredible pieces. They are just so fun. Only a real Muppet wouldn’t love this Miss Piggy shoulder bag. The Killing It clutch reminds me of being in Lisbon, swooning over all of the colorful sardine tins in local stores. Those are a lot prettier than they sound, I promise!

Accessories to Murder #30 | She and Hem | Novelty Accessories
Metallic Shell Clutch Bag | £28 | ASOS

Well, ahoy there! Hot on Lazy Oaf’s heels for the best novelty bag crown is ASOS. Here’s their catch of the day for all our mermaid readers, of which we have a surprising amount! There’s nothing fishy about this fetching clutch bag, and at £25, you’re not shelling out so much that your bank balance will get into a boatload of trouble!

Accessories to Murder #30 | She and Hem | Novelty Accessories
LULAMOON Pointed Unicorn Ballet Flats | £25 | ASOS

Something else ASOS are particularly good at is shoes, glorious shoes.Take these Unicorn flats, for example. Even though they have a sparkly horn (!), these pastel coloured slip-ons are subtle enough to wear anywhere. I find ASOS shoes super comfortable, so I would imagine these would be no different.

Accessories to Murder #30 | She and Hem | Novelty Accessories
Iris Lemon Printed Heels | £148 | Anthropologie

Speaking of shoes, these fruity beauties caught my eye this week. They are on the pricey side, but don’t be too bitter, as they would be such a playful accessory for a Summer wedding, especially as they also do a matching bag. Anthropologie, we are really sweet on you. Zesty!

Accessories to Murder #30 | She and Hem | Novelty Accessories
I Need A Vacation Cloche Hat | £105 | Kate Spade

Last but certainly not least is this hat from Kate Spade. I say hat, it’s actually a cloche, which makes it even better. Who doesn’t want to take a cute cloche on their holidays? This cloche does not lie, I do need a vacation, but until then I’ll be more than happy sitting on my balcony in a bikini and this hat. With a jumper, blanket and cup of tea as well of course, because England.

Until next week, keep accessorising!

Printed Button Up Front Dress £60 from Braintree at House of Fraser
Printed Button Up Front Dress £60 from Braintree at House of Fraser

I had not heard of Braintree before I stumbled across this dress on the House of Fraser website but my novelty print-o-meter was mighty pleased to discover them! This Parisian print is a true delight with the Moulin Rouge windmill and French cafes surrounded by pretty trees, lamposts and bridges. The shirt dress style is also rather nifty thanks to that full skirt and adjustable tie.

I am flower potty for this new Cath Kidston dress! It’s so so pretty with a lovely spring floral print (plus pots!). The pastel pink colour is a welcome change to the many darker shades I seem to have picked up from CK of late and that adorable white broderie collar is just lovely!

She and Home: Anthropologie Bath

She and Hem | Anthropologie Bath Opening We have been excited for a long long time about the arrival of Anthropologie in our neighbouring city, Bath. Having spent an embarrassing amount of hours pouring over the website and making all too brief dashes into their London shops it is a welcome change to know that they are nice and close by. This, their fifth UK shop, is their first outside of the capital!

*Correction* They already have stores in Edinburgh and Guildford.

She and Hem | Anthropologie Bath Opening She and Hem | Anthropologie Bath Opening We joined a similarly excitable bunch of press and bloggers at their opening breakfast. Yes, breakfast. I’m not sure there are many shops that would convince the two of us to set our alarms for 7am on our day off but this is one of them! But hey, what a breakfast it was! Provided by Sam’s Kitchen, we were well and truly spoiled by a never-ending supply of coffee, fresh juices, pastries and the most delicious fruit pots. It definitely made up for the early start!

She and Hem | Anthropologie Bath Opening She and Hem | Anthropologie Bath Opening She and Hem | Anthropologie Bath Opening She and Hem | Anthropologie Bath Opening She and Hem | Anthropologie Bath Opening And what of the shop? It’s gorgeous, naturally. Occupying what used to be Habitat, the large, light space is simply perfect for a shop like Anthropologie and they have sensibly kept most of the original layout. Split over two floors, there’s just so much pretty to look at! The staff were all lovely too with a special mention to Claire who so kindly stored our huge backpacks (we were heading straight to Manchester) for us whilst we looked around.

She and Hem | Anthropologie Bath Opening

Anthropologie are obviously embracing their new digs as they haven’t wasted any time in forming relationships with local artists, including the lovely Alice Shields, and are also collaborating with students at Bath Spa University.

Judging by the huge queue forming outside before the doors were opened to the general public, it’s going to be a big hit with the locals (and the nearly locals) and quite rightly so.

Love Heart Smock £32 from Vintage Style Me
Love Heart Smock £32 from Vintage Style Me

I’ve seen a lot of bloggers raving about this new heart print smock from Vintage Style Me and it’s not difficult to see why! It’s a fabulously pretty print with a great shape. I love Lily’s playful styling too!

Emily and Fin Abigail dress, heart print
Abigail Heart Print Dress £65 by Emily and Fin from Aspire Style

Speaking of lovely heart prints, this Emily and Fin Abigail dress is pastel perfection. The hearts almost look like confetti! So cute. I love their Abigail style, with full skirt and high neckline.

Capella Dress (Red Wine) (2)
Capella Dress £75.80 from Miss Patina

Valentine’s Day is probably the last day for a while you can get away with wearing a sparkly red velvet dress, so you may as well do it properly in this Miss Patina number. The back of the dress is gorgeous too, with two very lovely red bows.

Dress with Bell Sleeves £59.99 from Zara
Dress with Bell Sleeves £59.99 from Zara

You can’t be the belle of the ball without your bell sleeves on, can you? (said no one) I’m rather smitten with this white dress from Zara as it’s got a bit of a 60s vibe going on. Team it with red accessories and you are hot to trot. Continue reading Double Thumbs Dresses #27 *Valentine’s Special*

Double Thumbs Dresses #18

Hey Hemsters!

I’m back to brighten up your Monday with a selection of the frocks deemed worthy of the highly coveted She and Hem Double Thumbs seal of approval. Onwards!

Amalee Floral Skater Dress - Sale | LashesofLondon.com
Amalee Floral Skater Dress £10 (was £55) from Lashes of London

Last night, whilst researching this post, I ended up browsing the Lashes of London sale section. Turns out those guys really know how to do a reduction as I managed to pick up the above dress AND a playsuit for £15. WHAT MADNESS IS THIS? I pretty much spat out my tea when I saw this little stunner for such a thrifty price. The print is simply beautiful and as I don’t own anything off the shoulder, I figured this was as good a time as any to try the look out. And how fun is that neckline? Ridiculous. Three things to note: 1) At the time of writing, the dress is in stock in all sizes so mega soz if they have all sold out by lunch time 2) A previous Double Thumbs favourite, the rainbow dress, is also in the sale! and 3) Use the promotion code BLOGGER25 to get a further 25% off your purchase.

Red Floral Jersey Dress £26 from Next

Well this is a rather dreamy purse pleasing Autumnal number from Next. I know I keep banging on about my unwillingness to embrace the tartan trend but throw in some florals and it would seem I’m fully prepared to get on board.

Cheshire Dress #anthropologie
Cheshire Dress £178 from Anthropologie

I most certainly had a humongous Cheshire cat grin when I spied this Cheshire cat print dress from Anthropologie, who by the by are going to be opening up in Bath *pops party poppers*. Pretty colours, lovely sleeves but a slightly scary price tag. Ho hum.

Martha Denim Smock Dress
Martha Denim Smock Dress £21 from Olive and Frank

I keep seeing pretty ladies in pretty smocks looking all pretty and stuff. However, according to my OH a smock is more of a sack and should be avoided by me at all costs. Naturally, this makes me want to own nothing but smocks! I’ve been eyeing up this pretty denim one from Olive and Frank. It seems like a bit of a winner. Continue reading Double Thumbs Dresses #18

The height of fashion

giraffe

I might be sticking my neck out here but I think giraffes are the next big thing in fashion. Don’t believe me? Just take a look at some of these.

I would obviously recommend viewing this post using Safari.

Giraffe Print Scarf £6 from ASOS

First up we have this lovely ASOS scarf. It’s an absolutely gorgeous colour and has great big giraffe silhouettes roaming all over it. What’s not to love? The news just keeps getting better though as it’s currently in the sale for £6. Your neck will thank you.

Kissing Giraffe Pleated Skirt £38 from Topshop

Topshop appear to have the monopoly on giraffe prints (seriously, go type ‘giraffe’ into their search) but I think this skirt is the pick of the bunch. I mean, the giraffes are kissing (insert necking joke here)! on your skirt! THAT’S SO CUTE. It does look quite short but you could just throw it on over leggings and head out on your merry way.

Giraffe Print Top £25.99 from Zara

I am a big fan of this giraffe top from Zara. It looks lovely and light, so perfect for summer wear,  it looks super flattering and the different colours and prints on the giraffes make it that bit more unusual.  A perfect top to throw on with jeans and head to the pub in.

Bronti Giraffe Print Shirt £70 from Tommy Hilfiger

Now this is what you call a Fun Shirt. I was pretty much sold on the yellow giraffes alone but then I noticed that the collar and cuffs have their own jazzy giraffe print! That’s almost too fun. Put your feet up Tommy Hillfiger, you’ve earned it.

Black Sheer Giraffe Tights £8.50 from Topshop

See what I mean about Topshop? How great are these tights?!! I am currently stuck in a polka dot tight rut and I think these might just be the tights to break the habit. I haven’t managed to track them down in store just yet but I’m off to London this week so it’s really only a matter of time. In my head they will go with absolutely everything I own. Fingers crossed the reality meets up to the expectation.

Afternoon Safari Pencil Skirt £98 from Anthropologie

Here’s Anthropologie showing us how to do the ‘sensible giraffe’. This skirt has a great shape that will really flatter. It’s a tad pricey but you could get away with wearing it all year round and would lend itself to work and play. And did I mention it has pockets? It has pockets.

Safari As I Know It Dress $49.99 (£34) from Modcloth

Goodness me Modcloth really do have something to suit every occasion don’t they? I constantly find myself completely overwhelmed by how many brilliant things they have. If only they weren’t so far away! This bubblegum pink dress is just another thing to add to my ever growing wishlist and just screams adorable.  I am loving the length, the belted waist and the choice of colours used for the giraffes, some of them even have little polka-dots!  The only down side is the keyhole design used on the back which means I would definitely be resort to wearing it with a cardigan most of the time.

Beatrice Dress London in Mustard £125.99 from Poppy

I am surely not the only person who often feels burning rage that they don’t make little girls clothes in adult sizes.  They always get the cutest stuff! Well, I shall be frustrated no more as I have now discovered possibly the great place on earth in Poppy. They make their own original storybook inspired outfits for children AND adults. In your face, pesky children. I literally squealed looking through all the adorable clothes on offer. All of the designs are based on the adventures of ‘Poppy’ who in this particular dress is seeing the sights of London whilst riding a giraffe (I know, right?). I really love it in mustard  but it does comes in other colours and is extremely versatile as you can wear it with the v neck at the front or back. Swoon.
