Buckle up for Clarks Shoes AW15

Shoes glorious shoes! We were super pumped when the lovely folk at Clarks got in touch to ask if we would like to style some shoes from their new collection of shoes & boots for AW15! We couldn’t resist their latest collaboration with Orla Kiely, which we first saw in all its fabulous retro glory at the gorgeous #allquietinthelibrary London Fashion Week AW15 presentation. They are fun, quirky and playful! Basically, we like to think of them as the ‘She and Hem’ of the shoe world. That works for everyone, yeah?

We love how the famous stem print design is incorporated on to the sole of all of the shoes in the collection. It’s the little touches like that, the detailing of the straps and the exciting colours which make this collection so shoe-purb! All of Orla’s collaborations with Clarks have been pretty dreamy so far, but this one is definitely our favourite. From sparkly gold flats to groovy 70’s platforms, they are all blooming perfect! And comfy too! So very comfy.

Victoria plumped for the oh-so-sparkly navy and gold Orla Abigail* which, judging by the amount of times we have spotted these beauties on Instagram, are the must have shoe of the moment! It’s not hard to see why as they really are beautiful with such a lovely shimmer and, thanks to their perfectly formed chunky heel, are going to be just the ticket for party season! Victoria let her shoes do the talking and embraced a Sixties vibe with her black and white Primark dress, which is currently available in store if you fancy finding it. She looks so chic!

I (Jo) chose the Orla Angelina* because red and pink is my absolute favourite colour combination at the moment and with those lovely pink buttoned flowers, they were just too cute not to have! I couldn’t wait to wear them with my favourite Boden* skirt (seriously, I live in this skirt now) and, once I’d added some jazzy purple spotted tights and a pink pompom, I decided to try and tone down the madness by wearing a ballet dancer print blouse from Zara. That sentence makes complete sense in my head, anyway.

These shoes really are just fabulous and look so much more expensive than they are!  Please carry on these fantastic collaborations, Clarks! We don’t want this to be the last.

Orla and out!

Everything’s coming up Warehouse

She and Hem | Everything's coming up Warehouse

We managed to get a rare couple of days off work together this week and, after a few healthy hours of slobbing around in our PJs, decided to take full advantage of the beautiful Autumnal weather and headed out for a stroll.

Feeling rather seasonal, we decided it was the perfect opportunity to go pumpkin shopping and ended up with two rather gorgeous specimens that we have named Phil and Grant. Normal friends take photos of their pumpkins in public, right?

It was bizarrely warm for late October and we ended up casting our coats asunder for a proper play in the leaves as we had a good gossip and a catch up. We are so lucky to live next to such a gorgeous park!

Inspired by our frocks, we attempted a bit of a sixties vibe by adding our Boden* coats and white tights. Both of our dresses are from Warehouse* and we thought the colours looked rather spiffing together! It’s always nice when quite basic styles have fun details, such as Victoria’s snazzy collar and the excellent buttons on mine! Victoria finished her look with shoes from New Look and I teamed my look with a Gallic Rooster beret* (hello old friend), Topshop shoes and a black belt from ASOS.

Ask Her Friends

Ask Her Friends October Panel

As fans of both shopping and lists, we are delighted to say that we have now joined the Ask Your Friends bloggers panel! Along with some of our blogger faves, every month we will be picking our top pieces from the Ask Her Friends website in order to help those who perhaps don’t have the same ability to spend hours online scrolling through websites shopping. We definitely have no such issue.

This month was an Autumnal theme and we had a great time searching for the perfect  pieces and, after a healthy narrowing down session, went for the following….

1) Hidden Heart Mittens by Eka. How sweet is that heart detail? Now if only it was cold enough to wear them!

2) The rather dapper Sherlock Brooch – And Smile  by the super lovely Tigerlilly Quinn which shows a seasonally stylish Sherlock ready to take on the elements. Oh, Benedict it would be an honour to pin you to our lapels….ahem, moving on.

3) Comes in the form of a Jo Malone French Lime Blossom Home Candle by The Collection because nothing says Autumn like a nice cosy candle and lime blossom just sounds divine!

4) We were instantly rather taken with Alice’s Teapot Necklace by By Emily and can just imagine it looking lovely worn with a nice mustard jumper!

5) Finally we went for the incredible Fashionista Biscuit Tin by Biscuiteers which possibly isn’t particularly Autumnish but seeing as our Saturday nights at this time of year are now mostly spent in front of the TV chomping on sweet treats with Strictly on, it felt appropriate to us!

We recommend heading over to the Ask Her Friends website as they are running a competition to win a £50 gift voucher (hello biscuits!) simply for voting for your favourite panelist’s choices! We even promise not to be offended if you don’t choose us….however Sherlock will definitely judge you.
