ASOS Logan Pointed Ballet Flats | £25 | ASOS
cat2
ASOS Hammock Novelty Bow Heels | £45 | Asos
cat 3
ASOS Missy Flat Shoe | £28 | ASOS

I do have a naughty habit of regularly including ASOS items on Accessories to Murder, but I just can’t help it because they always have such great items in their ‘New In‘ section. Always. It’s definitely the first place I look when I’m on the hunt for something and nine times out of ten, I find it! I could fill a whole post with ASOS shoes, but I’ve managed to pick my current top 3 and I am in love with them all equally. Which pair are your favourites?

Pussy Cat Pumps | £7.50!! | La Redoute

I know what you are thinking, £7.50 is an incredible price for these cute cat pumps. WELL, do I have some good news for you. They currently have an extra 10% off when you enter the voucher code EXTRA10 at the checkout. The bad news is, they only have sizes 3.5 to 6 available. Although my own feet are only one size down from “Clown”, I know quite a few people who love cats and will fit into these smaller sizes (I’m looking at you Ellie and Gina) and if they don’t buy them I will be shocked and appalled and may have to reconsider our friendship. Meow!

cat 6
Pink Tassel Loafers | £22.99 | New Look

If you are looking for a slightly more subtle pink than the ASOS pair above, put your best foot forward and take a look at these rounded toe tassel front beauties from New Look. I do love a good loafer! Also available in a jolly nice pale blue and a sensible black.

cat 5
Patti Flat Point Shoes | £69.50 | Boden

These pretty Patti flats *may* just be on their way to me right now. I can’t deny, if it’s yellow and from Boden, I just have to have it (evidenced here, here and everywhere!). They look so chic, comfy and the perfect colour for Summer. Expect to see them in an outfit post very soon!

Until next week, keep accessorising!

Summer Shirt Dresses

Summer Shirt Dresses | She and Hem | Fashion Summer Shirt Dresses | She and Hem | Fashion Summer Shirt Dresses | She and Hem | Fashion

In April you may remember we featured a couple of gorgeous dresses from Carousel, a brand we have become big fans of since we became aware of them last year. Luckily for us, they have just released a new collection which we are both completely smitten with. We wanted a really special background to shoot these pieces, so we braved the temperamental English weather, jumped into the She and Hem party bus, and zipped over to Tyntesfield in North Somerset and became one with the beautiful blooms. If you haven’t been to Tyntesfield and are ever in the area, do pop by!

Summer Shirt Dresses | She and Hem | Fashion cs3

I (Victoria) am completely in love with the Olivia Boat Dress. The colour is quite an unusual red/orange, but it’s absolutely stunning and is surprisingly versatile! I’ve not worn many full length sleeve dresses, but I’m definitely going to start, as this felt like such a nice alternative style. It’s possibly a little shorter than I would usually go for, but I feel that if I team it with flats or boots, I won’t scare too many people with my whiter than white legs! For this post I chose my current faves, the Keira Boots from Boden, which are currently half price. My sunglasses are these cat eye beauties from ASOS.

We are both obviously feeling shirt dresses at the moment. Jo’s dreamy Lucille Dress is a must purchase for any vintage fan. The 3/4 length sleeves and pleated skirt create such a flattering silhouette and would help take the dress from day to night time. The pattern is the sweetest and the colours really pop IRL! Pretty impressive right? Jo accessorised this floral number with tan boots from New Look (similar here) and went all matchy matchy with a ravishing red belt from ASOS and Moschino sunglasses combo from TK Maxx. See you for the next collection Carousel!

Accessories to Murder #34

Hello and welcome to the 34th Accessories to Murder! Are you ready to delve into the world of amazing accessories? Excellent!  Without further ado, here are the accessories that have made it onto this week’s She and Hem’s Most Wanted.

Accessories to Murder #34 | She and Hem | Thunder Egg Topshop and More!
Dawn Mermaid Shirt | £44 | Sugarhill Boutique

Yeah, this shirt is not technically an accessory but does anyone mind when it’s got pretty mermaids on? No they do not. The coral and aqua mermaid print was hand drawn in Sugarhill Boutique’s Brighton studio, so it’s pretty unique too!

Accessories to Murder #34 | She and Hem | Thunder Egg Topshop and More!
Sadie Sunglasses | £59 | Boden

Bad news guys. I have lost my beloved Boden sunglasses. I had this pair until very recently, but now I can’t find them anywhere. It’s a real tragedy, as I wore them alllll the time, even in the rain. I think I’d like to replace them with this pair of rounded frames, but am struggling to decide between pastel pink or the more neutral tortoiseshell. Let me know your thoughts!

Accessories to Murder #34 | She and Hem | Thunder Egg Topshop and More!
Da Bomb Bag | £25 | Skinnydip via Thunder
Accessories to Murder #34 | She and Hem | Thunder Egg Topshop and More!
UFO Cross Body Bag | £28 | Skinnydip via Thunder Egg

The top bag from Skinnydip London is da bomb, and the flying saucer UFO bag is out of this world! Both bags have adjustable straps or can be worn as clutches, bonus! Skinnydip are my go to place for novelty bags, as they are always so fun without any astronomical prices. Head over to Thunder Egg and make some space for them in your collection.

Accessories to Murder #34 | She and Hem | Thunder Egg Topshop and More!
Leather Sequin Boxy Bag | £45 | Topshop

Now this is a bit of alright. A cute boxy cross body bag, with lots of easy on the eye floral embellishments. I think that it will go with almost anything, is spacious and sturdy enough for general use and pretty enough to take from day to night. Jolly good, keep it up Topshop!

Accessories to Murder #34 | She and Hem | Thunder Egg Topshop and More!
Yellow Faux Leather Jacket | £39.99 | Zara

This striking jacket has been around for a while, but it’s just too perfect not to feature. If yellow is not your thing, it also comes in a slightly more subtle light blue. Both are delightful. I’ve seen it on a couple of bloggers recently and it looks really great on. I’m very tempted indeed!

Until next week, keep accessorising!

Double Thumbs Dresses #81

Hello hello! Welcome back to Double Thumbs Dresses, our roundup of the frocks we have deemed worthy of the highly coveted double thumbs seal of approval! Let’s crack on….

She and Hem | Candy Stripe Dress £59.99 from Fever
Candy Stripe Dress £59.99 from Fever

I don’t usually appear on Double Thumbs but seeing as this dress has since disappeared from the Sainsbury’s website I was left with little choice as I couldn’t not feature the stripey supermarket stunner that has stolen my heart! If you live near a Sainsbury’s that stocks TU then you may be able to get your hands on this little beaut. If not, I thought this little deckchair inspired number from Fever was a more than adequate substitute. Gotta love a candy stripe!

Not following us Instagram? Come join the party!

She and Hem | Boskerris Dress £55 from Seasalt
Boskerris Dress £55 from Seasalt
She and Hem | Gwendreath Dress £55 from Seasalt
Gwendreath Dress £55 from Seasalt

I love these two summery prints from Seasalt. The vintage inspired shell number is perfect seaside attire and I really like the nice simple shape – plus it has pockets! Win. I am also totally obsessed with the beach umbrella print, that’s one packed beach! It’s all so lovely and fun – perfect for the warmer weather. Even in the rain we must parasol-dier on.

She and Hem | Cherries on Cream Emily Dress £45 from Lady V
Cherries on Cream Emily Dress £45 from Lady V

Who doesn’t love a cherry on top of their frock? This fruity number from Lady V is a real delight. I’ve been a fan of their 1950s inspired dresses for many a year now but this is my favourite print for some time. The neckline is super cute!

She and Hem | London Tulle Midi Dress with Frill Waist
London Tulle Midi Dress with Frill Waist £62 from Chi Chi at ASOS

The princess inside of me desperately wants to prance about in this Chi Chi dress. It’s tulley scrumptious! Look at that frill waist! The whole thing is outrageously pretty and if you invite me to your wedding, I will turn up in this.

She and Hem | Floral Ruffle Mini Shift Dress With Neck Tie £52 from ASOS
Floral Ruffle Mini Shift Dress With Neck Tie £52 from ASOS

OK so this ASOS ruffle dress looks a little short but I think you all know me well enough by now to know that I’m always going to be a total sucker for a massive bow, not that she’s bothered to tie it properly. FOR SHAME, MODEL.

She and Hem | Venice print swing dress £55 from Lindy Bop at Aspire Style
Venice print swing dress £55 from Lindy Bop at Aspire Style

Speaking of big bows, this Lindy Bop dress has a rather splendid yellow one on display. How gorgeous is that Venice print? The whole thing is just smashing! Some extra good news is that Aspire Style who stock this dress are still offering our readers a 10% discount if you enter the code ‘sheandhem’ as you check out. You are welcome!

She and Hem | Pixie Dress £89.50 from Boden
Pixie Dress £89.50 from Boden

Last but not least we have this lovely sixties yellow number from Boden. I love the classic shift shape but it’s that knockout geometric print that really makes this one special. I really love the contrasting white and yellow – good work, everyone.

Summer Smiles with Aspire Style

She and Hem | Summer Smiles with Aspire Style | Emily and FinShe and Hem | Summer Smiles with Aspire Style | Emily and FinShe and Hem | Summer Smiles with Aspire Style | Emily and Fin

Any regular readers will know how much we love Emily and Fin, so when the lovely ladies at Aspire Style asked us if we wanted to feature their new Summer range, we jumped at the chance! Not only that but they have very kindly offered us and our readers a wonderful 10% discount for the site, using code SHEANDHEM at the checkout. Apologies to your bank balance in advance!

If you want to try before you buy (and are local to Warwick, Stratford upon Avon, Oxford, Solihull or Coventry) we would definitely recommend popping into an Aspire Style store, which is what we did when we had a lovely city break away in Oxford! They have so much great stuff, we promise you won’t be disappointed!

You can’t walk five minutes down the road in Bristol without finding an incredible mural or brightly coloured door, but we were particularly taken with this beach hut inspired green and white garage door.  So much so that we heaped praise onto the owner when he popped out of his house to jump into his car. He was rather chuffed! We hope you’ll agree that it was the perfect match for our Seaside* and Cornish Harbour* print dresses. The Cornish Harbour print is so gorgeous and we love the Seaside print so much that we now both own it! Can we also quickly mention how much we appreciate that all Emily and Fin dresses have pockets! It’s an absolute winner.

I (Victoria) wore the Seaside dress, which features a brilliant beach scene complete with sunbathing ladies, in the Lucy shape. This shape is so flattering, comfortable and easy to wear. I accessorised with pink brogues from New Look (similar available here), matching pink sunglasses from Boden* and clear tights from UK Tights*. My vintage radio bag is from Accessorize, although unfortunately it’s currently out of stock online. Jo decided to pick up the lovely shades of pink and blue in her colourful Cornish harbour and accessorised with pink sunglasses from Amazon, an ice cream bag from Skinny Dip (also out of stock but they always have winning novelty bags so don’t be too glum), a pink Boden belt* and baby blue brogues from M&S (similar available here). Not quite ready to brave a bare leg, white tights from UK Tights* were the order of the day.

Huge thanks to Aspire Style for inviting us to style these beautiful frocks! Which is your fave? Let us know if you pick anything up and don’t forget to use the discount code SHEANDHEM ….

Double Thumbs Dresses #76

Hello hello! Welcome back to Double Thumbs Dresses, our roundup of the frocks we have deemed worthy of the highly coveted double thumbs seal of approval! Let’s crack on….

Sea View Sleeveless Crosshatch Dress £65 from Cath Kidston
Sea View Sleeveless Crosshatch Dress £65 from Cath Kidston

I had one of those moments on the Cath Kidston website where I was so overwhelmed with new prints that I had to calm myself. IT’S ALL SO PERFECT AHH! This sea view dress is adorable. Just look at all those beautiful boats! Of the new seaside prints I’ve spotted this is currently the only one in dress form but, for your CK records, I’ve also spied a beach huts apron (!) and this stunning harbour view skirt(!) – both of which are clearly screaming out to be dresses. The gnome print sold out so quickly that I might just have to bite the bullet and get this one straight away.

Evelyn Embroidered Dress £250 from Boden
Evelyn Embroidered Dress £250 from Boden

This is slightly more expensive than your usual Double Thumbs Dress but my goodness what a corker. This floral organza beauty is part of Boden’s latest Icons collection, a limited range of stunning pieces which are created with rich, luxurious fabrics. Basically it’s all just knockout and if you are looking for an investment piece then look no further. So pretty.

Eliza Dress £45 from Archive by Alexa at M&S
Eliza Dress £45 from Archive by Alexa at M&S

As a proud M&S shopper and huge Alexa Chung fan I have been super excited about this collaboration for what feels like forever! Today is finally the day that  Archive by Alexa launches and as this super fashionable, super affordable, super everything collection will probably all sell out in under 30 seconds, I thought I should include my pick of the bunch. The gorgeous Eliza dress, originally an M&S number from the 1950s, has been given a modern makeover to become this lovely frock you see before you. Please don’t have sold out before I get home from work!

Love Mer-Cat Dress (Mist Blue) £75.80 from Miss Patina
Love Mer-Cat Dress £75.80 from Miss Patina

Mermaids and cats! What a beautiful combination of creatures. Thankfully for us, the mer-cat takes center stage in Miss Patina’s new sea themed spring collection. It’s all just beautiful, with Miss Patina’s usual ethereal vibe. There really are some gorgeous pieces but this dreamy dress is the star of the show for me.  Well, apart from the tabby! Need.

Button Front Shirt Dress In Cat Gang Print £65 from Lazy Oaf at ASOS
Button Front Shirt Dress In Cat Gang Print £65 from Lazy Oaf at ASOS

If you prefer your cats with a more traditional tail, then look no further than these two ameowsing dresses from Lazy Oaf. Victoria and I are a little Lazy Oaf obsessed at the moment as they seem to have hit upon a gold mine of novelty prints. It’s just an explosion of cats and milkshakes and rainbows. Who could resist?

Daisy Jacquard Skater Dress £68 from Oasis
Daisy Jacquard Skater Dress £68 from Oasis

Last but not least we have this super pretty affair from Oasis. I love this sugary sweet shade of pink and the pretty daisy print is just lovely. It looks like a perfect Summer party dress so, errm, let’s hope we get a Summer!

Accessories to Murder #28

Hello and welcome to the 28th Accessories to Murder! Are you ready to delve into the world of amazing accessories, including a sneaky cheat entry from Lazy Oaf? Excellent. Without further ado, here are the accessories that have made it onto this week’s She and Hem’s Most Wanted.

Accessories to Murder #28 | She and Hem | Lazy Oaf Shirt
Eat Your Cake Shirt | £65.00 | Lazy Oaf

Now you may think this is cheating slightly, as a shirt isn’t technically an accessory, but Jo and I have been obsessed with this fun print ever since we saw it on the Queen of Youtube, Zoella. Although it’s one of the best novelty prints I think I’ve ever seen, I am yet to make the slightly pricey purchase, as I wish it was slightly shorter in length. It looked absolutely stunning on Zoe, but that girl has such a banging figure, she’d look great whatever the length. For now, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a range of items in this print.

Accessories to Murder #28 | She and Hem | Thunder Egg Brooch
Erstwilder “Sals Soda Pop” Brooch | £25 | Thunder Egg
Accessories to Murder #28 | She and Hem | Thunder Egg Brooch
Erstwilder “Radio Shack” Brooch | £23 | Thunder Egg

We feature gorgeous dresses from Thunder Egg all the time on the blog, so I thought it was only right to delve into their accessories section, and man I’m so glad I did because just look at these cute retro inspired brooches! There are plenty of different designs in stock, but my two favourites are the super Sals Soda Pop and the radical Radio Shack brooches. So-da great.

Accessories to Murder #28 | She and Hem | Boden Denim Jacket
Olivia Jacket | £59.50 | Boden

I feel that a demin jacket is a must have item for Spring, as it’s so quick and easy to pop on over a dress when you’re not really sure what the heck the weather is doing. One of the best designs I’ve spotted is the Olivia Jacket from Boden. Unfortunately, some sizes are currently not in stock, but they do have an excellent white version which is available in all sizes, and I may even prefer it to the blue. How controversial!

Accessories to Murder #28 | She and Hem | Boden Swimming Costume
Ruffle Bandeau Swimsuit | £59.50 | Boden

I’m off on an American adventure next week and whilst looking for some last minute holiday bits, this jazzy swimming costume caught my eye. I can’t resist a ruffle! I can totally see myself getting my Baywatch on, running slow mo down Venice beach in this beauty. Carrying a giant inflatable swan, obviously.

Accessories to Murder #28 | She and Hem | Pastel Clutch Bag
Beautiful Dreamer Pouch | £15.99 | Aspire Style

Last but not least, I wanted to feature a new designer who I discovered last week after the lovely Aspire Style sent us a couple of her pastel pouches (featured here) as a little ‘Thank You’ for taking part in their recent blogger challenge. Unfortunately we didn’t win, but the beautiful pouches from Katie Loxton really make up for it!

Let me know your favourite pieces and until next week, keep accessorising!

Double Thumbs Dresses #70

Hello hello! Welcome back to Double Thumbs Dresses, our roundup of the frocks we have deemed worthy of the highly coveted double thumbs seal of approval! Let’s crack on….

Swishy Mara Dress £89.50 from Boden
Swishy Mara Dress £89.50 from Boden
Molly Dress £69.50 from Boden
Molly Dress £69.50 from Boden

BAM! Let’s brighten up this miserable weather with some colourful Boden beauties shall we? It’s supposed to be Spring now after all! WAKE UP, WEATHER. Those luscious yellow stripes will certainty do the trick and those big bold spots are so super cute. Boden always do such lovely frocks for Spring/Summer and I am really digging the shape of both of these dresses. The silky sateen material of the Mara makes it ideal for dressing up or down and I adore the ruffle detail on the Molly.

Hazel Fluffy Cloud Print Dress £47.50 from Sugarhill Boutique at Thunder Egg
Hazel Fluffy Cloud Print Dress £47.50 from Sugarhill Boutique at Thunder Egg

Good news for people who like cloud print dresses (hi there) because Sugarhill Boutique have been doing some blue sky thinking and have come up with this pastel perfection of a frock. Isn’t it gorgeous? Pretty excited that it’s described as having a ‘waffle texture’ because a) no ironing b) stretchy c) I really like waffles.

Skater Dress With Lace Insert £35 from ASOS
Skater Dress With Lace Insert £35 from ASOS

Of course my waffle days will be a distant memory if I plan on wearing this ASOS dress anytime soon! I’m not usually one for exposing my middle but there’s something about that pretty lace insert that makes me love this dress. It’s so sweet.

Garden Gnomes Sleeveless Dress £55 from Cath Kidston
Garden Gnomes Sleeveless Dress £55 from Cath Kidston

This might be due to my weird obsession with the film Gnomeo and Juliet (which I have definitely watched more times than the average human) or my lifelong love of Harold Bishop and Lou Carpenter (they had quite the Gnome war in 1998) , but I am over the moon about this Cath Kidston print. Look at their little red hats!

Set You Free Dress (Cactus) £65.80 from Miss Patina
Set You Free Dress (Cactus) £65.80 from Miss Patina

How fun is this cactus dress from Miss Patina? They always have such fabulous prints! I am loving the yellow giant yellow bow too! You really can’t go wrong with a giant yellow bow I find.

Pleated Dress £79.99 from Mango
Pleated Dress £79.99 from Mango

I’ve been swooning over this Mango dress for a couple of weeks now and desperately trying to justify spending the money on it. Those pleats are perfection! And the big flared sleeves! SO much waft. And who doesn’t love a bit of dip dye?

Clarks x V&A

Clarks x V&A Clarks x V&A  Clarks x V&A Clarks x V&A Clarks x V&A Clarks x V&A

She and Hem favourites Clarks have joined forces with London’s Victoria and Albert Museum for the second time to create the most gnarly 1960’s inspired collection we’ve ever seen. Clarks x V&A is full of subtle heels and not so subtle floral prints, every SS16 shoe is magical. What’s even more magical is, they are also rather comfortable. Groovy baby! We were both all over that floral print like bloggers around a flatlay and couldn’t wait to take some outfit photos! As luck would have it, our previous post already had us embracing the correct era so it seemed like the perfect time to add some sixties soles (sorry) and see just what would work with such a jazzy shoe (the answer FYI is pretty much anything).

I (Victoria) fell in love with my Swixties Ball* shoes as soon as they arrived. I was so desperate to wear them that I just had to break them out for London Fashion Week, and they really went down a treat. Thank goodness they are so comfortable, as walking around London all day is quite the feet! For our shoot in our ever so colourful local park, I teamed my blossoming beauties with a vintage 1960’s dress from the gorgeous Heartfelt Vintage in Bristol and thick black tights from UK Tights*, because it’s still blooming cold out there! My incredible blue and pink novelty bag is the vintage radio bag from Accessorize, and I think I love it almost as much as the shoes.

Jo chose the Swixties Pop* slingbacks with added cute buckle detail. They look fabulous with her two awesome pieces from H&M, a brown mini skirt (oh so 60’s!) and the mustard blouse with stand up collar, which is SO good we both purchased it without the other one knowing, classic She and Hem japes. To finish the retro look, she popped on an incredible flamingo cardigan from Bryony and Co* which should be hitting their website later this week. Regular readers may also recognise her dreamy yellow Amanda handbag from Boden*. What a couple of cool cats.

Black, White and Red all over

Black, White and Red all over | Boden | She and HemBlack, White and Red all over | Boden | She and Hem Black, White and Red all over | Boden | She and Hem

We are loving the many colourful stripes of 2016 but there’s something so classically stylish about keeping things monochrome. It’s just such a delightfully versatile print dontcha think? However, being us, we like to throw in a few bright bold colours when putting together any outfit. Let’s make those black and white stripes really pop!

Black, White and Red all over | Boden | She and HemBlack, White and Red all over | Boden | She and HemBlack, White and Red all over | Boden | She and HemBlack, White and Red all over | Boden | She and Hem

We each styled the beautiful box pleated Maggie Ottoman Skirt from Boden*. The skirt is available in both mini and midi lengths and is in the most gorgeous heavy jersey material (zero ironing required – bonus!), plus it has pockets and you know how much we love a pocket!

I (Jo) plumped for the mini length which I was pleased to discover isn’t realllly so mini and hits just above the knee making it work appropriate! Hoorah. I teamed it with a yellow Visual Cashmere jumper, also from Boden*, which I thought helped make quite a nice transitional outfit thanks to the 3/4 sleeves. FYI these photos were taken on the one day of the year that the sun was out in full force so I got a bit carried away and thought Spring had arrived! The white polkadot tights are from UKTights (although they don’t seem to exist anywhere in the world – if anyone knows where I can get another pair please leave a comment!) and my black boots are an old pair from THE WHITEPEPPER. I finished off by tying a polkadot scarf round my head which was in no way whatsoever a cunning ploy just to hide my roots.

Victoria is totally rocking the midi length with gusto (we both agreed we feel much more comfortable in some sort of heel when wearing anything this length) and when teamed with Boden’s* poppy red Everyday Jumper those stripes become extra eye-catching. It’s such a good look – so much so in fact that Victoria ended up wearing a variation of this outfit to London Fashion Week….but that’s a post for another day. She kept her tights nude and finished off with those amazing Orla Kiely for Clarks shoes that make me so jealous whenever I see them. Oh Orla, please please please do more high-street collaborations!
