Ronneta Cat Print V-Neck Tea Dress £49 by Louche at Joy
Meow! How puuuurfect is this cat print dress from Louche at Joy?! I adore those cute colourful felines and they look extra striking against the darker background. There’s something just so delightfully playful about the whole look and, best of all, this frock has hidden pockets. Wizard.
Just My Typist Dress $99.99 from ModCloth
Sometime I wonder just how poor I would be if I lived in America and had no shipping and tax woes to stop me ordering from Modcloth as often as I order from ASOS. I genuinely dread to think. This primary coloured chevron affair is a pure delight and I would love to swan around at work in it looking all fabulous.
Dolores Paper Pin-up Doll Dress £63.75 from Collectif
Collectif consistently bring out fun prints in shapes to die for! This particular number features a whole host of adorable paper dolls who are ready to be dressed up in a range of fabulous 50s outfits – not dissimilar to those you’ll find on the Collectif website! Clever.
The Brigitte Coffee Dress €65 from Carousel
Anyone for a cuppa? This brew-tiful dress from Irish brand Carousel is just lovely. The 1950s shape makes it an instant hit in my eyes and the big bow is right up my street. They currently only have this available in a size 8 but fingers crossed more sizes will become available.
Spotted pleated dress £179 from Ted Baker
After I kept spotting people on TV in this marvelous polka dot number, I had to do some Googling before discovering it’s actually from Ted Baker (I was slightly dismayed as obviously I was hoping it cost £9.99 from Matalan). It’s just so nice and looks really striking on.
Floral Frill Fit And Flare Dress £35 from Dorothy Perkins
I am loving this poppy and daisy print wonder from Dorothy Perkins. It’s such a playful dress and has more than a touch of vintage charm about it. Those sleeves are fabulous too!

London Streets Dress £65 from Cath Kidston
We are absolutely loving all of the new Cath Kidston pieces which are hitting their website at the moment. How gorgeous is this colourful London print? The little buses and taxis (which are set in front of a picture perfect London skyline) are so cute!
Banana Print Dress £44.50 by Aida Zak Simona from Collectif
You should, quite rightly, be going bananas for this fruity frock from Collectif! It’s such a fun print and the big pleated skirt makes it extra ap-peeling. I have noticed it’s currently showing as OOS on the Collectif website but don’t worry, I haven’t slipped up, as it’s also available from both Thunderegg and Modcloth.
Midi Dress in Stripe £45 from ASOS
Who doesn’t love a jazzy stripe?! This snazzy ASOS number is oh so cheerful and perfect for the warmer months. I really love pink and red together so this is the perfect colour combo for me! I’m really diggin’ the shoes too.
Split-Neck Bell-Sleeve Dark Yellow Mini Dress £52 by Ecote Tyler from Urban Outfitters
I love this little vintage number from Urban Outfitters. It’s such a great mustard colour and the intricate print detail is just splendid. Yet again I’ve fallen for a dress with a bell sleeve but I’d need to be prepared to bare some skin as this frock has an open back. Yikes.
Rust And Brown Triangle Shirt Dress £26.60 (reduced – full price £35) from Dorothy Perkins
I think it’s time for a couple of bargains don’t you? The first is this delightful retro number from Dorothy Perkins. The print on this shirt dress is just fabulous and it’s ticking all my required Mad Men style boxes. A winner!
Cold Shoulder Floral Print Dress £16 from Matalan
Matalan have got some lovely bits in at the moment but this yellow floral dress really stood out to me. I think it’s screaming out to be thrown in a suitcase and taken away somewhere hot and sunny! Time for me to book a holiday….sigh.
Bow Front Shirt Dress £65.00 by Sister Jane at ASOS
Last but not least we have this super pretty candy-floss pink dress from ASOS. Look at all those bows! It’s like a never ending present. So so cute!

Aida Zak Sandra Boat Print Dress £58.50 from Collectif
First up I am loving the boat-iful dress from Collectif! It’s a pretty fabulous print and I love the style of the dress with a delightful full skirt, sweetheart neckline and, praise be, pockets! Race you to the seaside!
Multicoloured Tile Print Sundress £22.00 from Tu at Sainsburys
Is it Tu late now to say sorry? To my bank balance, that is. I have complained in the past about how Sainsburys didn’t allow you to order clothes on their website but now that they have rectified the situation I am facing some serious financial issues. ALL THE PRETTY.
V Neck PLeated Tiered Dress £60.00 from Oasis
Three tiers for this Oasis dress! Hip hip hooray…etc. I mean, you might need to buy your friends some sunglasses for when you wear it but by golly what a frock! It’s so so bright and so so awesome.
Zandra Rhodes Lipstick Asymmetrical Dress in Pink £85 from People Tree
I appreciate that you might have to take my word for it but this People Tree dress has the most fabulous lipstick print (go hover over the images on their website!). It’s super cute and I really like that, for a novelty print dress, it’s quite a sensible style.
Raddery Sailing Print Dress £59.50 from Jack Wills
Those of you with a good memory for dresses (hi) might well remember that Jack Wills brought out an incredibly similar print to this last year. I know this, because I bought said dress and wore it to death (here’s the proof)! JW must have decided that if the nautical print dress aint broke, don’t fix it! I’m so blatantly going to end up buying this one too.
Lusara A-Z Ditzy Floral Dress £179 by Ted Baker at John Lewis
So here’s a story from A to Z! How fab is this Ted Baker print? It’s sort of bonkers, with a mix of giant letters and a floral print, but it just works. Although I do wish the J (the best of the letters) was more prominent.
Graphic Print Mini Wiggle Dress £45.00 from ASOS
Last but not least is this super snazzy graphic print dress from a small independent company you might have heard of called ASOS. I think they’ll go far.
Hello hello! Welcome back to Double Thumbs Dresses, our roundup of the frocks we have deemed worthy of the highly coveted double thumbs seal of approval! Let’s crack on….
River Fish Cotton Dress with Shirred Waist £60 by Cath KidstonRiver Fish Mono Cotton Beach Dress £55 from Cath Kidston
Oh my cod, things are certainly getting a bit cray cray at Cath Kidston HQ thanks to their delightful new river inspired prints! As a self-confessed CK addict, I have naturally fallen hook, line and sinker for all things underwater! I am loving the colourful fish number with its shirred waist (as seen on the cloud dress) but how beautiful does the blue and white sundress look? I think Summer 2015 is going to be the time and plaice for fishy fashion!
Honolulu Print Prom Dress £59.50 from Oliver Bonas
Surfs up! I love this fab new Hawaiian inspired prom dress from Oliver Bonas, which has a gorgeous pastel pallet and features some very lovely surfers riding the waves. I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to be accessoried with sunglasses, a beach and a Pina Colada. That’s what I’ll be doing anyway.
Iris Shirt Dress in Red Graphic Geo £79 from Boden
I am all about shirt dresses at the moment and this 1950’s inspired number from Boden is ticking all the rights boxes. That geo print is just retro heaven and the whole thing just looks fantastically flattering. I would happily trot into work in this first thing and then head straight out for drinks in it come 5. Living the dream…
Gretal Stripe Sundress £55 by Louche from Joy
This is possibly the most cheerful dress I’ve ever seen but, gosh darn it, who doesn’t love a bright, multi-coloured chevron dress? It also has super deep pockets so you can store extra sunglasses for your friends to borrow when they realise they can’t look directly at you. Excellent summer dress work, Louche.
How Sweet Cactus Dress in White £45 by Somedays Lovin’ from Urban Outfitters
I didn’t know the cactus was able to look so pretty but Australian brand Somedays Lovin’ have created this super lovely print featuring a whole prickly bunch of them! I really love the laid back style of this dress and look forward to floating around in it on a hot day (did someone say something about a beach and a pina colada?).
Wild at Heart Dress £55 from There’s Only One Amy Laws
We always adore anything by Amy Laws and this 1950’s style floral affair is no exception! The dusky blue colour of the dress is gorgeous and who doesn’t want foxgloves growing around their hemline?
Dolores Doll Atomic Flamingo Print Dress £60 from Collectif
I thought the pom poms of last week were possibly going to be my Double Thumbs Dresses highlight of the year but here I find myself typing the words ‘atomic flamingo print’ and now I not so sure! This Collectif dress is brilliantly bonkers and features an array of watermelons, bannanas, pineapples and ummm ATOMIC FLAMINGOS (??!!). It might be the best thing I’ve ever seen.

Clocks Sleeveless Jacquard Dress £65 by Cath KidstonStop Thief! Sleeveless Dress £55 by Cath Kidston
When we visited the Cath Kidston AW14 press day a couple of weeks back we spent a lot of time fawning over their forthcoming prints and have been eagerly awaiting their arrival. I am therefore pleased to report that the Just In section of their website is currently a VERY EXCITING PLACE for an abundance of the new pieces have arrived, including both Clocks and Stop Thief! in delightful dress from! I really can’t decide which is my favourite, the charming vintage style of Clocks or the playful fun of Stop Thief! Time to hide my debit card.
Padstow Print Prom Dress £59.50 from Oliver Bonas
How unbelievably gorgeous is this dress by Poem at Oliver Bonas?I did a little gasp when it arrived in my inbox. Firstly, I love Padstow so this dress was a winner before I had even looked at it properly. However, when I did have a closer inspection I discovered the prettiest print of pastel houses(!) and cute yachts! It’s all a bit dreamy.
Molly Macaron Smock Dress £55 by Mod Dolly
Time for some macaron madness courtesy of Mod Dolly! I love this sweet loose fitting smock dress, especially with that gorgeous empire collar. I know I shouldn’t say this in a dress roundup but they also have this print in possibly the best two piece ever. Sorry, dresses.
Dolores Dress Summer Bouquet £65 by Collectif from Aspire Style
I hadn’t heard of Collectif before their dresses started appearing on the Aspire Style website by my goodness they are all about the twirly dress perfection. This super summery floral dress is just stunning. Look at those adorable buttons!
Unicorn Dress £46 from Sugarhill Boutique
The new Sugarhill Boutique collection is making me very happy at the moment! So much pretty! I really love this handdrawn unicorn print which I think looks especially lovely against that dusky blue colour. Plus, you can always count on SB for a good sleeve.
Sunshine Shift Dress £45 from Miss Selfridge
This is such a lovely bright dress from Miss Selfridge! It looks like the sun exploded all over it! It makes me want to go on holiday.
Womens Printed Shirt Dress £14 from Peacocks
And last but not least is the bargain of the week from Peacocks! I love a good shirt dress and the gorgeous vibant florals make this one a really winner. I usually find Peacocks dresses to be a decent length too, making them perfect for work.
