It’s been a good while since we first featured purveyors of fancy shirts, GANT, (you can read our other post here) but now that we are all about ease of access it seemed like to good time to revisit them! As luck would have it, GANT have gone shirt crazy this season with many a jazzy number to choose from and we were kindly invited to pick a couple to style.

Victoria chose the Grid Dip Silk Blouse* from the Diamond G collection, which is made up from tailor-made pieces featuring graphic prints inspired by abstract impressionism – just like us. Victoria really liked the silky fabric (100% no less) and envisions wearing it on lovely hot days in the Summer to help hide those pasty arms. We think that teamed with her pink British Tweed Boden skirt* this outfit is very secretary chic (who said smart shirts are just for the office?) The two contrasting prints really compliment each other – just like us. She finished the look with some metallic shoes from Next (similar here)

I (Jo) plumped for the Voile Island Flower Shirt* in yellow (it also comes in pink or blue). It’s such a bright fun print and the relaxed fit is really flattering. I’m probably going to be wearing this a lot with jeans, as that’s my Mum go-to at the moment, but I like that it can also be tucked into skirts for when I’m posing with old cameras in front of brick walls. I also went for a pink Boden skirt (similar here) and my Pink Floral Occasion Slip-on Skater Shoes from Next*.

What do you think of our looks? You can check out the full range of GANT shirts here!

We’d really like to thank the fabulous Jess (aka porthjess) for taking these photos for us! If you don’t already follow her on Instagram, you should! She’s kind of a big deal.

*GANT very kindly sent us these shirts but all opinions are Mummy’s own.

It’s time for something you hardly ever see here on She and Hem. That’s right, not one, but BOTH of us wearing trousers. Shocking behaviour for a Wednesday I know. You may not have noticed the trousers though, due to those flipping excellent stripy shirts. We ordered these on the GANT website using the Click and Collect service, then made our merry way down to the Bristol store in Quakers Friars. Whilst we were there we caught up with the lovely team who took us through their current ladies collection, and you won’t be surprised to learn we are now both smitten with the gorgeous 70’s inspired Pansy Shift Dress seen above. I (Victoria) also love the magical monochrome Braid Print Shirt Dress!

We spent far longer in the store than planned after we discovered that you can help yourself to tea, coffee or wine whilst browsing. So we poured ourselves a drink, unwrapped our boxes of joy and popped them straight on. Jo loved her Striped Silk Shirt* so much, she went out for dinner in it that evening. Who can blame her, it’s slickly silky! I am weirdly precious over new things and have packed my Striped Boyfriend Shirt* away to wear on my honeymoon next month. I’m pretty excited about recreating that Scarlett Johansson scene at the Park Hyatt. Keep an eye on our Instagram to see how I get on!
