Hi! it’s sale time again and I am totally ready for some bargains! So, without further ado, here is a pretty massive list of fabulous frocks that have previously been deemed worthy of the highly coveted Double Thumbs seal of approval but have now been deemed worthy enough to go in the sale. Enjoy!
Hello! It’s Double Thumbs time again! Our weekly roundup of the fabulous frocks that have won our seal of approval. I hope you’ve taken your hayfever meds as things are about to get real floral.
Floral fancy number one comes courtesy of Poem at Oliver Bonas. It has got a lot of things going for it such as that super feminine pleated skirt, a perfect-for-summer cool light-weight fabric and, to cap it off, capped sleeves.
Yeah, alright, I know I can dream on but this Hobbs dress is so gorgeous. I love the shape, the colours and, most importantly, the collar! They rather marvelously describe this dress as “billowing”. I will happily billow for Hobbs.
Back on budget now with this blooming lovely dress from Dorothy Perkins. This dress is also a great shape and the colours look so pretty together.
FlamingWOAH what have we got going on here? This Coast scenic print dress is delightfully bonkers. I love it though and it’s nice to see them bringing the crazy.
Oasis are always a good bet for a nice summer dress and this one would certainly take you from garden parties to the beach with little trouble. The straps are adjustable too, which is handy.
Yep, it’s happened again! I believe this George dress to be the third pineapple print dress featured on Double Thumbs in as many weeks. The pineapple is clearly running rings around its fruity competition, eh?
White Stuff continue to impress with their gorgeous new collection of dresses. This dahlia print is so pretty and prim! It looks a decent length for work too, if that’s a deal breaker for you.
Hooray! It’s time once again for our weekly round up of the lovely dresses that receive the highly coveted She and Hem Double Thumbs Up seal of approval.
The top spot this week goes to this gorgeous geometric floral print dress from White Stuff. I love everything about it!
I think Coast are under the false impression that we all secret live in a Disney movie. Why else would they make possibly the most Disney Princess worthy dress I have ever seen? It’s so sparkly and BIG and I really really wish I had somewhere to wear it.
Lovely Louche have done it again with this sweet woodland print dress, which you can order online from Bristol Based Fox + Feather. It’s such a cute 50s shape, with great big buttons and a lovely pastel tree print.
Wahey! It’s another deckchair print dress! The She and Hem print of 2014 and my new favourite! There’s really a lot to love about this Trollied Dolly frock but, aside from those deckchairs, look at that whopping great bow!
I’ve been waiting for this Nishe dress to hit the ASOS website! I adore those little sweets, although I do wish there were more of them. Such is life.
I think we all know by now that I am a sucker for a cat print! I love the simplicity of this Hobbs dress, which is covered in lots of little black cats. I’d probably swap the belt for something a bit brighter and a bit less ropey though. But that’s just me.
I feel it is my duty to show you this stamp print dress!! I love the retro vibe and, as always, Laura Ashley have channeled the 50s to perfection.
Last up this week is this lovely dress which I spotted whilst in Gap. I was drawn to it because it has pockets but it’s so much more than that. It’s floral too.
PS If you love reading Double Thumbs Dresses then do please consider nominating us for the Company Style Blogger Awards 2014 in the Best Duo category. Imagine how big my double thumbs will be if we get shortlisted. PRETTY BIG is the answer.
Howdy dress fans! Can you believe how fast the weeks are going at the moment? I can barely keep up! In fact, I’m actually still thinking about that Lucky Cat dress from last week. But, whatever, it’s totally time to move on and take a gander at this week’s selection of dresses deemed oh-so-worthy of the highly coveted Double Thumbs seal of approval. It’s a good job I’ve just been paid as this selection is not particularly budget friendly.
First up is this berry nice dress from Great Plains. It’s a lovely length, so perfect for wearing to work, and it ticks the very important sleeves and pockets boxes. It has a lovely big sash to nip your waist in, which is flattering but also means you can have a nice big fun bow. Woo! I’ve gone for the traditional red strawberry but if you’re a fruity renegade, it also comes in yellow.
People Tree have done the double this week with two fabulous dresses. I think we’ve established that I like anything with a cat on so it’s no surprise that the vintage style Mae Cat dress floats my boat. I love the colours and the fact that People Tree have nailed the evil glare cats give you when you’ve disturbed their day. It’s also a fab fit and flare shape with a tie belt and pockets.
Next up is the pretty bow print dress. I’m not usually one for predominantly black dresses but this one really appeals to me. The sleeves are simply divine and the shape is another vintage inspired affair. It looks a little Blair Waldorf to me, which is perhaps why I want it so much.
I have no idea how I stumbled across Nadinoo (I’m inclined to blame Pinterest) but oh my what a pretty label this is. I’m pretty obsessed with their about page which describes their style as whimsical and enchanting whilst each piece is designed ‘for three fictional characters Pixie, Fleur and Lula’. My favourite is this ladder print dress which has one of the most whopping great bows I’ve ever seen. Gorgeous. Continue reading Double Thumbs Dresses #26→
Mark my words folks, elephants are going to be massive! It’s a good job then that I’ve got a trunk full of unforgettable fashion for you to browse. Go forth!
First up we have the Sugarhill Boutique Ellie range which currently includes a top and a dress, both of which are available in either vibrant coral or retro aqua. I simply love the cut out heart in the top, it’s so unusual but yet completely wearable. The all over elephant print is just adorable and if you look closely the elephants trunks are even making little hearts to compliment the biggun’ at the top. Marvelous.
For practically peanuts you can keep your neck stylish with this glorious elephant print scarf from Oasis. At the risk of starting a stampede, it’s currently on sale.
I do love a good smock, they are just so versatile and easy to wear. This super duper Kelly green ( AKA the best member of the Green family since Rachel) dress from ASOS features a veritable herd of elephants to keep you company and despite being a loose fit, will flatter any figure.
I think we all know by now that satchels are pretty popular around here and this gorgeous elephant print Zatchel is next on my ever increasing wishlist. The bags in this range are made from a textured leather that is designed to perfectly emulate the look of elephant skin (notice how I say emulates? no real skins here please, cheers). The effect is beautiful, especially in the classic brown, but if you fancy something brighter the elephant range is also available in pink, blue and green.
These shorts form part of Michelle Smith’s highly lusted after Milly Collection for Banana Republic and, much like the rest of the line, are super fun. The print on these shorts would look fab paired with a bright top and wedges.
I have to admit I am a little bit afraid of patterned trousers but whenever I see them on other people they look so good! These snazzy elephant print trousers from New Look might just be the ones to make me take the plunge as even if I end up looking a dumbo, I’ll only be down £16.99.
Totes amaze! How delightful are those laughing elephants? I am a big fan of this sturdy looking shopper from Hobbs and for £15 it ticks the practical yet fantastical box. Well done, everyone.
This pretty elephant print top from Next comes in a variety of colours but I’m rather partial to this pretty pink. It looks wonderfully soft and would look lovely thrown on with jeans or shorts. It’s a casual top but it has lots of lovely little details, like the little buttons and the turn up hems on the sleeves. I also adore the arm length and the bubble style hem means it will nicely disguise any unwanted junk in your trunk.
