Sugarhill Boutique are one of those amazing brands that we feature over and over again on She and Hem because they epitomise everything we love about fashion. They continually create feminine but unfussy items that last way beyond any trend. Their pieces last through the seasons and most importantly, they are consistently FUN! Hooray! As you can see, we are both pretty happy about their new Spring collection. It’s full of transitional layers, novelty prints and cute collars.
We were a little overwhelmed whilst browsing the New Arrivals section, as there are so many gems, but we eventually picked a few items that will keep us toasty until this weather sorts itself out. I (Victoria) am wearing the purrfect Nita Curious Cat Sweater*, which I chose because it reminds me of my own calico tortie, Clementine. I am desperately trying to get Clem to pose with me in this jumper, but it is proving quite the challenge. More kitty treats needed I think, she’s got such a cat-titude. I couldn’t resist teaming it with the jazzy floral print Kate Springtime Trousers* and fashion blogger poses straight out of a cat-a-logue…
Now, saddle up for the mane event. Jo spent the day horsing around in an excellent equestrian dress. The enjoyable print on the Gayna Running Horse Shift Dress* is so special, it was actually hand-drawn in Sugarhill’s Brighton studio, so hold your horses as you won’t be able to find it anywhere else! She popped the gorgeous grey and pink Happy Sweater* over the top and felt very chipper about it too! We both accessorised our looks with silver flats. The perfect footwear for hanging out with your BFF by a big green door.
What are your favourite Sugarhill Boutique pieces?
I know this might seem a little like we are jumping on the Christmas jumper bandwagon (well, it is December after all) but trust us when we say we LOVE a novelty Christmas knit. From wonky Rudolphs, to bonkers baubles, it’s all about embracing the cheese come Christmas time. Just ask Colin Firth.
We wore our new George* Christmas jumpers out to a new night market in Bristol, which claims to be the city’s first street food event of its kind; combining local breweries, artists, music and all things Bristol. It was really a rather magical affair, with beautiful string lights and bunting decorating a courtyard packed with craft stalls, food stands (we went for a Minno wrap, yum!) and a big open fire. Inside the building, a former police station no less, we discovered a variety of art installations. We had a wonderful time exploring, especially when a kind stranger offered us a balloon each. It’s not often you spend your Friday evening stood in a police cell holding a party balloon, is it? Maybe it is. Continue reading Festive Finds: We Wish You a Wooly Christmas→
It’s now October and officially jumper season! Fabulous knitwear is appearing all over the shop at the moment, mostly adorned with some sort of animal motif. It’s all a bit tempting so I’ve compiled a list of my current favourites!
A badger in a top hot? Need I say more.
A long time ago when we first started this blog, our first post was all about hot air balloons! This lovely jumper would clearly have made it onto the list! Marvellous.
