Hello hello! Welcome back to Double Thumbs Dresses, our roundup of the frocks we have deemed worthy of the highly coveted double thumbs seal of approval! Remember back in February when I said I was ready to start writing these posts again after having baby? Yeah, sorry about that – turns out having a baby is quite time consuming. What I have found time for, however, is online shopping and over the past couple of months (mostly at 3am) I’ve been saving all the frocks that have caught my eye meaning I’ve accumulated somewhat of a bumper crop. So, here they are all! ENJOY.

It wasn’t so long ago that we wrote our first maternity wear love letter to JoJo Maman Bébé (you can read the post here) and it’s fair to say that not much has changed. We really really dig their fashion and it’s so nice to find a brand that stocks such great quality and affordable maternity clothes but that are actually rather stylish too. When they got back in touch to ask if we’d be interested in featuring some of their multibuy items we were delighted and began putting together outfit ideas! Turns out, you can save money if you buy two of the same style!
Having featured their dresses before, we were both keen to get hold of more nursing dresses that we can wear when breastfeeding (if it all goes to plan!) but look equally fab whilst we are pregnant. I (Jo) went for Floral Maternity & Nursing Tunic Dress* with Victoria plumping for the Stripe Maternity & Nursing Tunic Dress*. Both dresses are so comfortable and, we think, are super flattering. They both have pockets (yay) and thanks to the fabric, require no ironing whatsoever! Hoorah! The hidden openings for breastfeeding are so discreet and clever and if buying two dresses you can save £10. Sold! I teamed my dress with a red floral statement necklace from Tatty Devine (similar here), maternity leggings* from JoJo Maman Bébé and my trusty Tan ‘Marina’ Lace Up Boots from Dorthy Perkins. Victoria broke up her stripes by adding an old black belt and is wearing maternity tights* from UKTights and Tan Chelsea Boots* from Boden.
Our next look is a bit of a bold step for us as it involves, wait for it, TROUSERS! Who knew we could wear them? We were both were keen to get hold of black jeans so chose two different styles and, once again, you can save yourself £10 when buying two pairs. I went for the Black Super Skinny Maternity Jeans* which actually fit like a dream. I was worried they they might be too tight but there’s still plenty of stretch around the middle and I’ve been living in them since they arrived! Victoria chose the Supersoft Maternity Skinny Jeans* which don’t really feel like jeans at all making them oh-so-comfy. Finally, to complete our look, we chose two of the Breton Stripe Feeding Tops* in different colours (you can save yourself a Fiver when doing this). We love how clever the double layer system is, making breastfeeding so much easier and the cut is flattering yet roomy. As is often the way, we both accessorised in a similar fashion! My cosy grey hat is from M&S (similar here) while Victoria’s black floppy hat is from ASOS. We both also went for gold glittery trainers (even the most casual of outfits can benefit from a bit of sparkle) with mine from Keds for Kate Spade and Victoria’s from La Redoute (sadly they seem to be sold out).
You might also notice that we are sporting some rather fetching brown leather satchels. These are actually Chester Satchel Changing Bags* and are going to be used an awful lot of the coming months/years! Each bag is packed with useful pockets and compartments and comes with an insulated removable bottle bag and a padded changing mat. It just goes to show that even the most practical of pieces can still be stylish!
You can find the full range of JoJo Maman Bébé multibuy items here! Happy shopping!

We’re taking a slightly different direction this week, as I’ve been on the hunt for cute baby clothes for my number one future accessory (just kidding!). Hello and welcome to the 36th Accessories to Murder. Are you ready to delve into the world of amazing accessories? Excellent! Without further ado, here are the accessories that have made it onto this week’s She and Hem’s Most Wanted.
We start with a terrific twosome from Topshop. Both the Game Over bag and Mermaid Bag are made by Skinnydip and are a heck of a lot of fun. Being a lady of a certain vintage, I remember loving playing on my GameBoy when I was growing up, so I’m a big fan of the first bag. The second is dedicated to all of our aquatically minded followers, and I know we have a good few! What a catch.
It’s finally bright enough to wear sunglasses out without looking a bit odd. That’s never stopped us here at She and Hem, but hooray for the sun, and let’s hope it lasts! I spotted these whilst browsing the Zara website and while they aren’t as colourful as the sunglasses we usually feature, they look chic without being too sensible.
I’m really excited to have spotted this fab satchel from La Redoute, which also comes in a wonderful yellow version. I usually go straight for anything that comes in yellow, but I’m a big fan of the grey and pale blue combo on this beauty. It looks a lot like the more expensive brands, but comes in at about half the price at £35! Thanks La Redoute!
I haven’t featured anything from Modcloth in a while, so this week they are back with a bang with this incredible chevron swimming costume. It’s so pretty! The yellow piping looks so flattering, especially around the waist. Gosh, if I was going on a summer holiday this year, this would go straight into my basket.
Keep the doctor away with this fruity little number. Whether you have a fancy dress party coming up or you just love novelty bags, this apple bag from Primark is a right old bargain. This is the first time I’ve featured anything from Primark on Accessories to Murder because I have to admit, I do struggle with their website! Does anyone else feel a bit frustrated with it?
That’s all for now folks. Until next week, keep accessorising!
Hello and welcome to the 35th Accessories to Murder. This time, we’ve got a shoe special for you, featuring a cheeky La Redoute voucher code! Are you ready to delve into the world of amazing accessories? Excellent! Without further ado, here are the accessories that have made it onto this week’s She and Hem’s Most Wanted.
I do have a naughty habit of regularly including ASOS items on Accessories to Murder, but I just can’t help it because they always have such great items in their ‘New In‘ section. Always. It’s definitely the first place I look when I’m on the hunt for something and nine times out of ten, I find it! I could fill a whole post with ASOS shoes, but I’ve managed to pick my current top 3 and I am in love with them all equally. Which pair are your favourites?

I know what you are thinking, £7.50 is an incredible price for these cute cat pumps. WELL, do I have some good news for you. They currently have an extra 10% off when you enter the voucher code EXTRA10 at the checkout. The bad news is, they only have sizes 3.5 to 6 available. Although my own feet are only one size down from “Clown”, I know quite a few people who love cats and will fit into these smaller sizes (I’m looking at you Ellie and Gina) and if they don’t buy them I will be shocked and appalled and may have to reconsider our friendship. Meow!
If you are looking for a slightly more subtle pink than the ASOS pair above, put your best foot forward and take a look at these rounded toe tassel front beauties from New Look. I do love a good loafer! Also available in a jolly nice pale blue and a sensible black.
These pretty Patti flats *may* just be on their way to me right now. I can’t deny, if it’s yellow and from Boden, I just have to have it (evidenced here, here and everywhere!). They look so chic, comfy and the perfect colour for Summer. Expect to see them in an outfit post very soon!
Hello hello! Welcome back to Double Thumbs Dresses, our roundup of the frocks we have deemed worthy of the highly coveted double thumbs seal of approval! Let’s crack on….
We are cray cray about Cath Kidston‘s crayon print! Isn’t it fabulous? Surely one of their best ever and that’s saying something! I adore those multicolored pencils and the shirt dress makes for a refreshing CK change. There’s also an equally fab skirt in this print online but I am waiting for the pencil shoes that we spied at the press day to appear! My feet will not be stationary when they do.
You all know that I am gaga for a hot air balloon print so I was pretty over the moon when I discovered this beauty on La Redoute. It’s just gorgeous and I love the colourful balloons against the navy – it’s like they’ve all gone for a midnight fiesta. Also, this dress has pockets.
Yes! Yes! Everything Yes! This is the pinkest, floatiest thing I have ever seen! This ASOS frock wins the award for jazziest sleeves with those insane fluttery numbers.
And now for a slightly more demure shade of pink thanks to this Warehouse prom dress. It’s so pretty! The lace overlay is the stuff of my dreams and I love the skater skirt shape. Pastel perfection!
There is something about this Lost Ink (from ASOS) dress that is just calling my name. I love it! There’s just so much detail to admire, from the wonderful contrasting black ribbon trim and bows to the ruffle detail around the neckline. The sleeves are also just heavenly. Defo go watch the video if you don’t believe me!
And another cutie number from ASOS who are really smashing it out the park as per. This is another dress with adorable sleeves that also have the most delightful ruffle detail. There are so many pleats, overlays and trims to admire that I’m not really sure where to start.
Last but not least we have this Summer stunner courtesy of Ted Baker (from John Lewis). It’s so whimsical and romantic thanks to that beautiful lightweight material. I am clearly all about my frills at the moment with that lovely high neckline. Plus the floral print is a bit of alright too.
Hello hello! Welcome back to Double Thumbs Dresses, our roundup of the frocks we have deemed worthy of the highly coveted double thumbs seal of approval! Let’s crack on…
This Louche dress is so fantastically ridiculous that I actually burst out laughing when I first saw it! Look at it! It’s covered in animal heads (a happy to be here sort of head, not the ‘mounted on your wall for LOLZ’ sort) including pandas, racoons, cats, donkeys and elephants. You should probably snap it up faster than you can say “We Bought A Zoo”.
Just when we thought we couldn’t get any more excited about the new SS16 Emily and Fin collection this orange beauty appears on Modcloth! It’s SO gorgeous! How lovely are those cranes? It would be like wearing a sunset. Dreamy.
I somehow ended up stumbling onto the La Redoute website this week in search of something or other. I used to love flicking through their catalogs as a moody teenager but I must admit I hadn’t really given them much thought in recent years. Turns out I’ve been missing out! I discovered page after page of rather lovely dresses at pretty reasonable prices. MY FAVE! There are some really fresh frocks that would be perfect for Spring and also some nice bits of vintage detailing. I think the top frock is quite Orla Kielyesque, no? Click on the dress for direct links….
I adore a red dress and this little ASOS skater dress looks to be smoking hot! I love the ruffle neckline detailing and the collar is super cute.
Someone needs to keep me the heck away from Needle & Thread because seriously, I just want it all! This floaty pink tulle ballet number of my dreams is oh so pretty and sparkly. It would make a darn great bridesmaid dress too *sigh*.
Last but not least we are going all chic-and-Chanel in this tweed affair from Zara. I’m so down with that big black bow and the whole thing is just rather classy isn’t it?
